11. Jamie Forrester

Jamie Forrester was yet another Atkins signing in the summer of 2004. The proven goalscorer was a trainee at French side Auxerre before a £60k move to Premiership Leeds, he made 9 Premiership appearances, before moving firstly to Grimsby, and then to Scunthorpe. Jamie scored 37 times in 101 games for the Glandford Park club, until the opportunity to play in the Netherlands for FC Utrecht arose.

Forrester failed to make an impact abroad and was loaned back to Ray Graydon’s Walsall, and Kevin Wilson’s Northampton. 6 goals in 10 starts for the Cobblers convinced Wilson to make the deal permanent for £150k. The forward continued to flourish, scoring 39 more goals in 111 games. Hull City was Forrester’s next club in January 2003, although he failed to play regular football he did manage seven goals.
