18. Sonny Parker

Last updated : 01 September 2004 By Chris Barnes
Sonny Parker arrived at Rovers on a non-contract basis in December 2002, as Ray Graydon sought emergency defensive cover. Parker grew up through the ranks at Birmingham City, becoming a regular in the reserve team, however following promotion to the Premiership Parker was forced to accept Steve Bruce’s offer of a free transfer. Since joining Rovers Sonny has played across the back, and had become an important squad player, providing cover for the likes of Danny Boxall, Kevin Austin and Adam Barrett. Ian Atkins has told Sonny he may leave Rovers on a free transfer, however, while he remains at the club he continues to provide extra defensive cover.
