8. James Hunt

Former Northampton Midfielder James Hunt followed Ian Atkins from Oxford to Rovers in the summer of 2004. Hunt made a handful of appearances at his first club Notts County, before being signed by Northampton boss Ian Atkins in 1997 on a free transfer. As Northampton began their first campaign back in Division Two, Hunt became a key player, leading Northampton to the Playoffs where they beat Rovers in the Semis, only to lose to Grimsby in the final. Atkins re-signed Hunt in July 2002 for his new club Oxford, where he continued to be instrumental, making 80 appearances in two seasons. History repeated itself once again as Atkins signed Hunt for a third time, this time at Rovers.
