Andersen earns Rovers point

Last updated : 30 October 2010

A brilliant injury-time penalty save from Mikkel Andersen denied Carlisle a dramatic victory in a 1-1 draw. The Danish goalkeeper dived full length to his left to palm away Gary Madine's spot-kick after referee Oli Langford had spotted an offence in the box. Chris Lines headed Rovers in front three minutes after the break, but Mike Grella side-footed an 87th-minute equaliser from a cross by substitute Ben Marshall. Carlisle were denied twice by the woodwork. James Berrett's 42nd-minute shot from 25 yards bounced off a post, while defender Lubomir Michalik hit the bar with a deflected effort from distance in the second half. Stuart Campbell chipped against the crossbar for Rovers from 25 yards on 58 minutes and, with both sides creating other chances, a draw was a fair outcome.
