Anthony bemoans false position

"We're in a false position," defender Anthony told BBC Radio Bristol.

"If we can start playing games well again as well as keeping clean sheets and scoring, as Will Hoskins has done, then we'll push up the table."

The eight league goals Hoskins has scored are one of the few bright points to a season in which Rovers have won just five of their 19 League One matches.

And frustration with their form has increased in recent weeks as the weather has enforced postponements.

Their most recent league match was on 11 December when they lost 6-2 at Sheffield Wednesday and they have not been able to make amends for that heavy loss.

"It's difficult times, but we've got to get on with it," added the 24-year-old.

If you could choose the next gaffer and two new January signings who would they be?

"We've done everything. Boxing, cycling work at the gym, tennis and running round and different bits and pieces just to keep ticking on and keep the heart rate going and try and keep the fitness up for the games when they do come.

"I've enjoyed the season so far. I've improved slightly and that's what you want to do each season, try and get better.

"It's nice to do that, but the main thing is getting the team up the table and finishing as high as possible."
