Beswetherick follows Dinkel through the door

Left-wing back Jon Beswetherick has left Bristol Rovers after they decided not to renew his contract.

The decision to axe the former Plymouth and Sheffield Wednesday player comes as little surprise as he only made one start, in the league cup, and was an unused sub twice.

There is however, now no cover for Robbie Ryan at Left-wing back on the Rovers books, unless either Ryan Williams or Stuart Campbell can develop their defensive abilities, both being out-and-out wingers.

This decision follows the departure of former trialist Thorsten Dinkel last week. The German left the club by mutual consent, but Atkins wished him well saying that he had a lot of talent.
