Rochdale will include winger Nicky Adams in the squad, after he joined on loan from Brentford this week.
Defender Scott Wiseman has missed the last six games with a stomach muscle injury but is nearing full fitness and could be in contention.
Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope told BBC Radio Bristol:
League position frustrates Trollope
"The league position (15th) is a bit frustrating, we really should be in a mid-table position.
"But it's very, very tight and we're aware that a good run over the next couple of weeks should see us quite high in the league.
"They've (Rochdale) picked up some very good results so it's going to be a tough game again."
