Colchester match preview

The Pirates came through the 1-0 win at Exeter unscathed and have no suspensions ahead of the trip to the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

However, Trollope will need to decide whether to recall striker Chris Dickson to the starting XI.

Dickson was ineligible to face parent club Charlton a week-and-a-half ago and Trollope decided to leave him on the bench on his return, instead keeping faith with Daryl Duffy.

With Duffy scoring his first league goal of the season at St James Park, the 24-year-old may well be on the bench once again.

Meanwhile, Aaron Lescott is still missing as he continues his recovery from a groin injury that has kept him out for the last month.

The 30-year-old defender has resumed light training but is still a week away from a first-team return.

Colchester will add Kem Izzet to their squad.

The long-serving midfielder sat out Tuesday night's defeat at Brentford due to a one-match ban for collecting five yellow cards.

Midfielder David Fox will play despite an ongoing rib problem so defender Lee Beevers (shoulder), winger Ashley Vincent (ankle) and striker Scott Vernon (knee) are the only injury absentees.

Boss Aidy Boothroyd may make changes after his side stumbled to only their second defeat since he took charge in September.

Striker Steven Gillespie is pushing to start his first league game in nearly nine months following a spate of injuries.

Phil Ifil, Simon Hackney and Danny Batth are also hoping to be involved from the start.
