Disley to stay with Gas

Bristol Rovers midfielder Craig Disley has been the subject of an enqiry by Boston United boss Steve Evans.

However these approaches were quickly rebuffed by Ian Atkins who sees the Mansfield born player as a lynchpin of his future plans.

Evans was however told that Dave Savage is avaliable and Boston are expected to offer the former Ireland international a 2-year deal.

Disley has failed to start a single league game since his arrival from Mansfield Town in the summer. A combination of injuries and the good form of others has seen Disley sit out many games on the bench, occasionally appearing as a sub.

Disley was pencilled in for his first league start this weekend but the wet and windy conditions swayed Atkins to plump for the more combative Aaron Lescott.

However, Disley has shown when he has played a lot of flair and skill which is lacking from the likes of Trollope, Hunt and Lescott, and it is certain Disley has an important role to play in Rovers' push for promotion.
