Hoskins suffered an ankle injury in the 1-0 midweek victory over Bournemouth and the 17-goal former Watford striker will be assessed ahead of the game.
Sawyer returned to training this week after recovering from a groin injury and will also be the subject of a late fitness test.
Tuesday's win over promotion-chasing Bournemouth, courtesy of Jeff Hughes' first-half spot-kick, moved Rovers out of the npower League Two relegation zone for the first time since December.
"We've done the hard work, getting out of the bottom four, it's just staying out of there now," said assistant boss Craig Hinton on the club's official website. "I think confidence is high at the moment and I hope we take that into Saturday."
Exeter striker Marcus Stewart has confirmed he will retire after the clash with his former club. The 38-year-old will bring the curtain down on an illustrious career which has seen him score 254 goals in 782 games.
