Forrester and Disley impress as Gas go through

Craig Disley and Jamie Forrester were both given their chance to shine in the blue and white quarters, both starting the LDV game against Barnet.

Junior Agogo and Richard Walker were rested, allowing Lee Tohrpe to take his place alongside Forrester. In midfield Stuart Campbell took the injured James Hunt's place and Liam Burns was left out in favour of Disley.

Forrester hit the bar early on following Stuart Campbell's cross, but handed Rovers the lead from a 25-yard free kick just before half time, following a foul on Disley.

Lee Thorpe made it two in the second half, Craig Hinton sent him one-on-one and the former Lincoln striker rifled into the top right hand corner.

Substitutes Lewis Haldane and Ryan Williams caused havoc in the final minutes as Rovers pushed on for a third, but to no avail.

The only moment of worry came when John Anderson left the field injured on 42 minutes to be replaced by Burns.

The performances of Disley and Forrester will certainly give Ian Atkins food for thought ahead of Saturdays game at Swansea, Forrester has now scored two in two and is sure to be pencilled in alongside Agogo, and Disley also looks like keeping his place.
