The former fans favourite at Glanford Park was subbed onto the pitch on 75 minutes to make his Bristol Rovers debut, amidst a torrade of abuse from the Iron faithful.

It was this abuse, he revealed after the match, which made him even more determined to make his mark on the game.

He said: "Once the fans started booing it made me just want to get the ball and do everything, but I think when I scored I kept them quiet.

"I came off the bench and I think the goal came with about my second touch or something. I can't remember exactly what happened but the ball just fell to me and I put it away.

"I went a bit mad after that and lost my head but I couldnt help it, it was just so much emotion.

"It wasnt just for me though, it was about the three points because this is a hard place to come and to get a win like that with a goal near the end against my old team, I couldn't have planned it better."
