Hoskins at the double

An opportunist double from striker Will Hoskins made it a miserable day for 10-man Notts County as Bristol Rovers ran out 2-1 winners. Hoskins headed Rovers in front from Carl Regan's fifth-minute cross and then capitalised on an error by Krystian Pearce to shoot the second 11 minutes after the break. The visitors had centre-back Graeme Lee sent off for a second caution on 39 minutes as he blocked Jo Kuffour's run off the ball. But they pulled a goal back on 87 minutes when Ben Davies shot home following a poor back-pass from Byron Anthony. County had been forced into a late change to their starting line-up as striker Lee Hughes dropped out to be replaced by Jake Jervis. It was Jervis who was sacrificed when Lee was dismissed, Mike Edwards being sent on to bolster the defence. Kuffour should have made it 3-0 on 69 minutes volleying straight at Stuart Nelson, a miss that condemned Rovers to a nervy last few minutes.
