John Anderson hands in Transfer Request

John Anderson has reportedly handed in a transfer request to Bristol Rovers manager Ian Atkins. The former Hull centre-back started the season as an automatic selection in Ian Atkins' first eleven, however he was rested for the Cup game against Brighton and has since been unable to dislodge Craig Hinton from the team.

The surprising element seems to be the speed in which he has reached the decision to quit, he had only been out of the side for five games. This may make Atkins call into question the commitment of the Scot. The timing of this decision also seems strange as Atkins announced he would change his defensive line up following the 4-2 defeat at Leyton Orient.

If Anderson does go a space could open up for former trialist Liam Burns who has been on a week to week deal since the summer.

Atkins did however recall Anderson to the team on Saturday and the defence responded with a solid performance and a clean sheet, so perhaps the problem could now be resolved.
