Rovers v Gillingham. Early team news

Last updated : 20 November 2009 By Simon Collins

Right-back Carl Regan will miss the clash with Mark Stimson's side due to a one-match suspension after picking up his fifth booking of the season against Carlisle last weekend.

The Pirates will also be without Aaron Lescott, with the left-back expected to be sidelined for at least another two weeks with a groin problem.

Rovers boss Paul Trollope could opt to switch centre-back Byron Anthony to right-back, with Steve Elliott expected to slot in at centre-half.

Danny Coles came through the victory against Carlisle and suffered no reaction to a knee problem, so he will line up in the centre of defence once again.

Winger Mark Wright is in contention for a return after sitting out the clash with the Cumbrians due to a hamstring injury.

Stimson is boosted by the return of Barry Fuller and Simeon Jackson.

Striker Jackson missed last weekend's 1-0 home win over Oldham because he was away on international duty with Canada.

Full-back Fuller was also absent because he was suspended but both players look certain to return to the starting line-up this weekend.

John Nutter and Chris Palmer are competing for the left back berth while Gillingham's only confirmed absentees are long-term injury victims Danny Jackman (shoulder) and Simon King (ankle ligaments).

Forward Andy Pugh is unavailable after joining Welling United on loan but Jacob Erskine returns to contention after completing his spell at Bromley.

Gills goalkeeper Alan Julian has been placed on the transfer list at his own request.
