Savage wants to stay

Bristol Rovers midfielder Dave Savage has turned down an on-off move to Boston by pledging his immediate future to the Pirates.

Savage handed in a transfer request earlier this season, citing a desire to move closer to his home in Northampton as the reason behind his decision.

However, recent games have seen him restored to the Rovers lineup on the left of midfield, the revitalised Savage has been central to the recent improvement in performances, and has now stated his desire to stay.

Savages's contract runs out this summer but he has publicly stated that he wishes to continue in the blue and white quarters in order to secure promotion back to League One.

The imminant move of Richard Walker to Kidderminster is likely to allow Ian Atkins the finance for Savage to be retained until then.
