Trollope looking winning ways after another defeat

Boss Paul Trollope now has to rally his troops and hope for a result next week against Carlisle.

Speaking after the Cup defeat Trollope said:

"We are in the trenches now. We can talk about performances and what we deserved from games, but the facts don't lie and I'm concentrating on the defensive issues that are costing us.

"A few of our defenders switched off at a free-kick for Southampton's first goal and that made it a very poor one from our point of view.

"Then we were caught twice on the break from our own free-kicks when the players had been warned beforehand about Southampton's strength on the counter-attack.

"We have two home league games ahead now and a lot of work to do on the training ground before facing Carlisle next weekend."
