Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope expects to make another signing before his team report back for pre-season training on Thursday.Trollope has already recruited midfielders Harry Pell, from Charlton, and Fulham's Wayne Brown, along with former Watford striker Will Hoskins.

"We've been in lengthy talks with both players and agents," Trollope told BBC Radio Bristol.

"We're hoping to get at least one more player in before pre-season commences."

He added: "The players are doing fitness tests on Tuesday and Wednesday and the group will be starting on Thursday."

Trollope is delighted with how his new-look squad is shaping up before the League One campaign.

"The recruitment drive has gone well this year. We were pleased at the beginning with Harry Pell's signature. He's a young player who we think has bags of potential," he said.

Will is a player we've admired for a long time. He first came to our attention when he banged a lot of goals in for Rotherham

"And, to get Wayne Brown from Fulham on a free transfer, was a major coup for us. He ticked all our boxes in terms of his quality, drive and also his age.

"He's another younger player we think can grow with the football club and how we're trying to do things."

The arrival of Hoskins was another significant step in the rebuilding process. "Will is a player we've admired for a long time. He first came to our attention when he banged a lot of goals in for Rotherham," Trollope said.

"We've had a few efforts to get him in different transfer windows in the past 18 months and we've beaten off a lot of competition for a player we rate highly."
