Since thursday, Bristol rovers fans have had something to be intrested in for the first time in 6 weeks! Some fans at rovers have had worries about the new management staff enployed; Especially Russel Osman as he was an Ex- Bristol City manager. However after 19 minutes of the game against the boogey side York City, any queries about Russel and Kevin Broadhurst were silenced by Danny Williams who struck home from around 20 yards with a low sweet shot which floated just above the ground right into the corner of the net. 1-0 to the Gas!
with only 2 minutes gone and another goal was scored, for a long time that sentance would herald the arrival of an equaliser, however today was something special. Adam Barrett made a magnificent leap to rise above any pressure from York to head home a inch perfect cross from Gary Twigg, with the ball ending up in the corner of the net past Porter, the fans were undoubtedly optemistic, which must be the first time for months! From then on it was all Rovers. many a chance went begging for the rest of the first half but the gasheads knew there was more to come from their new look hero's.

The second half brought about the quickest goal from a Bristol rovers player this season, less than a minute into the second half Ally Gibb powered home from the edge of the box after a superb bit of link up play between the two men up front, Lee Thorpe and Junior Agogo, who according to most fans after the match, had his best game in the Blue and White quarters!

For once in the game Rovers fans had their hearts in the mouths for the wrong reason as Richard Offiong had a goo shot from close range but mainstay Kevin Miller pulled off a gigantic save which garanteed the 3 well deserved points!

York had a couple of half chances as did Rovers however nothing came to avail for either side and as the full time whistle blew with the worthy winners being saluted by the 6,521 Gasheads, only 202 had braved the huge trip to watch their team lose, "a long way for nothing" was finally aimed at someone other than rovers fans!
