Rovers and Silkmen in stalemate
Two fine second-half saves from Richard O'Donnell earned Macclesfield a battling point from a goalless draw away to Bristol Rovers.
The on-loan Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper parried a 70th-minute drive from Mustapha Carayol and did even better to divert a fierce Lee Brown shot for a corner five minutes from time.
Macclesfield rarely threatened but striker George Donnelly did had a shot deflected narrowly wide after 58 minutes.
Rovers dominated possession in the first half but found it hard to penetrate a well-organised visiting defence.
Carayol sent an early shot wide from 30 yards, Matt Lund had a free-kick saved and Matt Harrold just failed to connect with a 42nd-minute cross from Brown.
Relegation-threatened Macclesfield failed to force a single save from Scott Bevan in the first half and operated with Donnelly as a lone striker.
